Program areas at Blaine County Education Foundation
The Blaine County Education Foundation was established to provide critical resources to students and teachers outside of what bcsd funding covers. The Education Foundation provides support through our 4 signature programs; can do fund- is an emergency fund established specifically for students with financial need, teacher mini grants - provide the opportunity for teachers to access funding to provide classroom enrichment materials to help them implement new and innovative ideas in their classroom, Education enhancement program - is to provide funding for extra classes to assist students who are struggling with core academic and life skills. The support varies for each School and the student populations they serve, and academic excellence fund - is designed to help students participating in academic clubs, such as model united nations, chess club, or robotics, and who are unable to pay for the cost associated with participating and competing locally, regionally or nationally. The intent of these programs is to ensure all students are able to participate in a well- rounded academic experience, regardless of financial barriers. Education is a key tool to help children rise above poverty and reach their greatest potential in life. Almost half of students enrolled in the bcsd qualify for the federal free and reduced lunch program.
Bcef supports other various programs including the following:bcsd milepost, wrhs and carey construction academy, autism spectrum disorder program, voice i and ii program, and all schools. These programs are restricted funds that are delegated for specific programs.
Awarded scholarships to graduating high School seniors to assist in advancing their Education to the next level. Some of the scholarships are 1 year, 2 year and 4 year scholarships.
