Program areas at Blanket Fort Hope
Provided human trafficking prevention education to children, law enforcement, court personnel, health care providers, teachers, and the general public involving over 10,000 people. Bfh is working with focus Alabama through the Alabama health department and the education system to bring awareness to Alabama schools.in 2022, Blanket Fort Hope produced a new foster care human trafficking training along with social worker prevention education through our foster care initiative. In 2023, we trained the Alabama association of social workers, the Alabama board of nursing and the state social worker board, 160 people, on the behavioral, physical and mental effects of the human trafficking of a child and how to indentify and foster these children for a successful outcome. Foster care initiative - we were able to turn the names of foster care families into another source for those who wanted to work with victims. Dhr was able to place 5 children due to this. We trained 4 groups in foster care for the human trafficked child.
Cpa (child placement agency) license applied for. Executive director hired. Policies and programs written and trainings initiated for future foster care parents (to recruit and place kids and families).
Annual training with sav-a-life teaching them how to advocate for their patients. Church trainings are recognition of human trafficking and how to build a mdt (multi-disciplinary team) training and importance of safety on campus including background checks. Churches trained include briarwood presbyterian, daystar, new Hope, helena methodist, bethel and westwood.
