Program areas at Blessing House

Blessing House is a non-denominational faith-based agency that cares for children newborn through age 12 when their family is having a crisis and the children need a safe place to stay. Parents voluntarily bring their children to Blessing House and maintain custody of them while they are with us. We provide a safe home for children. Parents receive support services to help them address their situation. There is no cost for the parents for the services they receive. Our families deal with homelessness, housing issues, mental and physical health issues, domestic violence, substance abuse and legal issues. We work in partnership with other agencies and programs to provide support to families who have children at risk of abuse and neglect. Our efforts focus on family support services both onsite and in home as families continue to struggle with basic needs, health issues, isolation, academic challenges and lack of social and economic resources. For the year, we provided onsite residential care for 148 children from 73 families. An additional 105 families were assisted with other support including in kind donations, information referrals and temporary emergency housing. 536 individuals received assistance from Blessing House during the year.
