Block Island Historical Society procures and preserves objects and records pertaining to the history of Block Island, Rhode Island, and encourages and promotes the study of the island's history. In addition to this mission, it also operates a museum and gallery that exhibits artifacts of Block Island's history. The society runs a museum shop that educates visitors about the island's past. Along with this, the society is responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the historic Woonsocket House through architectural, design work, and site work. It is based in Block Island, RI.
