Blue Channel Therapy

Blue Channel Therapy meets the irs charitable purposes including relief of the poor, the distressed or underprivileged, advancement of education, lessening the burdens of government, lessening neighborhood tensions, eliminating prejudice and discrimination, combating community deterioration and juvenile deliquency.2023 was another year of growth and learning, thanks to a grant from the states behavioral health administration we were able to expand the arvada office from three offices to six. The grant also allowed us to start developing a neurofeedback program. 3 staff have started the training which is an 18 month process and will continue into 2024. We are working on increasing more inclusive practices and as part of the bha grant we are working on translating all of our paperwork, resources and website. Bct was also able to send 4 therapists to become trained in firstplay, a model designed for 0-3.bct was able to add 3 more ftes of externs (two at the arvada office one of which is spanish speaking and one at the aurora office) as well as two more interns at the arvada office. Allison becker helped expand the board by joining as the secretary. This year we gained experience writing and managing state and private grants. Bct received a walmart childrens mental health grant at the very end of the year that allows us to provide 200 free sessions to uninsured and underinsured people. With the addition of new externs halfway through 2023 and having interns for the entire 2023 year, bct experienced significant financial growth and allowed us to serve about 450 clients at a time.
