Program areas at Blue Forest Finance
Project development involves development, design, and deployment of innovative Finance models, including the Forest resilience bond and the strategies under Blue Forest asset management, which facilitate ecosystem restoration and management, specifically in the interest of reducing or mitigating extreme catastrophic wildfire and supporting the ecological management of natural resources. We bring together utilities, private companies, investors and government at the federal, state, and local level to develop and invest in conservation Finance projects, companies, and initiatives that accelerate the pace and scale of restoration work.
Science & research involves partnering with academic and other research organizations to provide scientific support for stakeholders' investments in ecosystem restoration. We help develop, test, and employ tools and methodologies for quantifying and monitoring the multiple benefits and return on investment of ecosystem restoration. We also maintain a portfolio of independent research projects aimed at gaining new insights into the various benefits of well-managed landscapes and conservation Finance.
Communications, outreach, & education involves activities to produce and disseminate materials and information about our innovative Finance models and the multiple benefits of ecosystem conservation and restoration generally. Our stakeholder and public outreach and education expands knowledge of our projects while promoting them as emerging and effective models that are applicable and replicable to many landscapes and ecosystem situations in need of large-scale management and restoration.
