Program areas at Blue Sky Acres
Equine-assisted activities program - Blue Sky Acres provides equine- assisted horseback riding and groundwork to individuals facing physical and mental challenges. The two primary populations we serve are individuals with disabilities and those in foster care. We seek to improve life skills, foster independence, promote social interaction, provide peer support and mentorship and provide support for family and caregivers.
Employment program for people with disabilities - Blue Sky Acres provides employment for individuals with disabilities. Many of these individuals would be unable to work in a traditional workplace, but Blue Sky Acres provides supervision so that these individuals have the support they need to succeed. In 2023, Blue Sky Acres employed four individuals with disabilities through this program.
