Repairing America's Infrastructure and Building a Clean Economy- BGA works to educate the media and the public about the need to repair America's infrastructure. By making the systems we rely upon every day more dependable, efficient and resilient, we can address the threat of climate change while creating good-paying jobs. BGA works to achieve legislative goals through advocacy and grassroots educational campaigns designed to pass comprehensive clean energy legislation. BGA's Worker's Rights Advocacy initiatives include issue advocacy and grassroots educational campaigns. Legislative goals include measures to reduce carbon emissions, increased commitments to renewable energy and energy efficiency, safeguards for energy-intensive, trade-exposed industries so that they can compete in the global economy; and measures that ensure the creation of quality jobs and economic opportunity for workers and communities.
Health Initiatives - BGA Health Initiatives is a national grassroots educational initiative to reduce workplace and community exposures to toxic substances; and to promote occupational safety and health as a fundamental, on-the-job right for all working people. BGA's goal is to strengthen existing standards regulating toxics, enact new policies at the state and federal level and - through an emerging area of science, invest in research and development of safe alternatives that can reduce toxics, create new business opportunities and, in the process, transform many current jobs into green jobs.
Climate Change & Clean Energy Jobs - BGA works to support and enact policies that create and maintain quality jobs while addressing climate change and other environmental problems. Through clean energy investments and policies, the U.S. can lead the world in clean energy innovation and production, which is good for workers and the environment. BGA works to enact global trade agreements that promote global clean energy and economic development addressing the climate change problem.
