Program areas at Langlade County 4-H Leaders Association
Youth leadership development trips for the older youth of Langlade County. Members participate in workshops and events at conferences, tour different areas of the country, and apply to become members of state teams such as the Youth Leadership Council State Drama Company, etc. Youth are then requested to bring back things they learned to their local clubs and the county to enhance our local programming and project efforts. ce enna cena neem
H Camp is held at Camp Susan for approximately one week each summer in July. High school 4-H members serve as counselors ~ and’attend a lock-in training facilitated by the 4-H Agent of Langlade County in late May. They then participate in a training at Camp Susan in June. These trainings provide them with the information needed ot address situations such as homesickness, campers who do not wish to participate, etc. During the trainings, they are also provided time to plan activities to keep all campers busy while at gamp. Counselors are responsible for creating lists of materials needed, time to be allotted for the events, as well as which areas the will be responsible for assisting in which range from arts and crafts to nature to swimming and boating. A day campis held for community members in kindergarten through fifth grade to attend and then the rest of the week is for 4-H members only
Each fall, Achievement Day is held to recognize youth for their accomplishments over the past 4-H year and shortly after thata Leader's Banquet is held to recognize the 4-H Leaders who have volunteered numerous hours of their time over the past year. It provides a sense of accomplishment for members and leaders to be recognized for the good things they have contributed to and the new things they have 1earn
