Program areas at Bob Burdette Center
Over the duration of the 2022-2023 program year, the Bob Burdette Center provided afterschool programming at four physical locations including emmanuel baptist church (ebc), edgewood elementary, mary c. snow elementary and north charleston community Center, plus a summer program at ebc. The program served children from edgewood elementary, grandview elementary, and mary c. snow elementary in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Every child during the school year and summer program received a full meal and a snack at each of the four locations every day of operation (10,758 meals and 8,060 snacks). Every child was provided the opportunity to have individual or small group tutoring by certified teachers in the subject areas of mathematics (286 total hours) and reading skills (317 hours) for a total of 150 days where tutoring was provided.
