The 10 day ceremony was held at the Bodh Gaya stupa Jan 21-31 2023. Daily attendance averaged 7440 monks nuns and high lamas as well as 2600 lay people. Daily offerings included flowers food for the local poor; tea rice and biscuits for the assembly and lay people were also offered. Sacred text readings were sponsored at local monasteries. Yeshe De Publication books and sacred art were freely distributed to all attendees daily during the ceremony. Head Lama of TNMC prepared budgets ahead of time and expenses were conducted under supervision by TNMC personnel. TNMC was reimbursed after the final actual expenses were reported.

Throughout the year daily butter lamps were offered in butter lamp houses on the Bodh Gaya stupa grounds. During the Jan 21-31 ceremony 100,000 butter lamps were offered daily a total light offering of 1,000,000 lamps. Expenses included the oil wicks cleaning cloths and labor. All costs were reported monthly and under budgetary control. Head Lama of TNMC was reimbursed for these costs.
