Program areas at BARCC
Client services: counseling: barcc works with sexual violence survivors and their loved ones to address and heal from sexual violence through sessions each year. 24-hour Crisis hotline: highly trained and supervised volunteers provide in the moment support 24-7 to 4,200 callers case management: barcc offers over 1,000 sessions for short-term assistance to survivors with the complex issues that arise in the aftermath of sexual violence e.g., emergency housing, and victim compensation. Legal advocacy: barcc offers comprehensive legal assistance helping survivors explore and/or work through criminal and civil legal issues stemming from an assault through 1,200 sessions each year. Access to forensic information (afi) project: we work with agencies throughout Massachusetts to ensure survivors receive accurate information about their options for sexual assault exams and evidence collection. Prison Rape elimination act (prea) Rape Crisis services: supports survivors of sexual violence who are incarcerated in Massachusetts with hotline and hospital accompaniment services.
Community engagement and prevention: community awareness and prevention services : the organization participates in over 160 events annually providing education and training to schools, college campuses, police, businesses and community-based organizations. Movement for access, safety, and survivors (mass) collaboration: the collaboration works to make services more supportive and accessible to survivors with disabilities.
