Program areas at Bowdoinham Public Library
The library's collection consists of books and media (17,505) and with electronic offerings totals 46,640 items. FY22-23 circulation: 9,764; patron visits: 5200. Library operations is the largest expense.
Public computer and internet access is available during library hours. Our internet may be accessed without entering the building. We provide two work stations as well.
Offerings at no cost to the public are an important part of our services: Reading Challenges, two adult book groups, children's summer reading program, storytime, parent and child reading group, free passes to local places of interest, speakers and lectures. During Covid the library offered outdoor self-guided storywalks.
ARPA grant of $2500 was used for pandemic expenses: air purifier, folding tables for outdoor events, book cart, picnic table for outdoor meetings, additional e-book offerings. $500 for assistant setup.
