In 2023 the Council served 8,898 youth in all programs, constituting 48.1% of all youth from pre-k through 20 years old in interior and north slope Alaska. 179 Scouts attended camping programs and 145 cub Scouts attended day camp.the Council operates four scouting programs: cub Scouts - a family and community-centered approach to learning citizenship, compassion, and courage through service projects, ceremonies, games, and other activities promoting character development and physical fitness. Scouting - with the Scout oath and Scout laws as guides, and the support of parents and their religious and neighborhood organizations, Scouts develop an awareness and appreciation of their role in their community and become well-rounded young men and women through the advancement of the program. Scouts progress in rank through achievements, gain additional knowledge and responsibilities, and earn merit badges that introduce a lifelong hobby or a rewarding career. Venturing - provides experiences to help young men and women, ages 14 through 20, become mature, responsible, caring adults. Young teens learn leadership skills and participate in challenging outdoor activities, including having access to Boy Scout camping properties, a recognition program, and youth protections training.learning for life - program that enables young people to become responsible individuals by teaching positive character traits, career development, leadership, and life skills so they can make ethical choices and achieve their full potential. Fees are generated from the operations of the Council's long term summer camp and high adventure treks and from conducting activities including but not limited to adult training, day camps, youth leadership training, and weekend overnight camping.
