Program areas at Boy Scouts of America - Hawk Mountain Council

In the bsa, there is one program - scouting. Within scouting there is cub scouting which is available to boys and girls from kindergarten to fifth-grade or 6 to 11 years. The program is designed to pursue the aims of character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Cub scouting is divided into age-based levels of lions, tiger cubs, wolf cubs, bear cubs, and webelos Scouts. Scouts bsa is the flagship of the bsa for boys and girls ages 10 to 18. It uses outdoor activities such as camping, aquatics and hiking to achieve the aims of character, citizenship and personal fitness training. The order of the arrow is the Boy scouting national honor society for experienced campers, based on native american traditions and is dedicated to the ideal of cheerful service and brotherhood. Venturing is for young men and women 14 (and who have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Stem (science technology engineering math) Scouts is co-ed for youth from third to twelth grade. Stem Scouts interacts with professionals in weekly hands-on lab sessions and discover new things in a fast-paced, thought-provoking, and fun way. We ended 12/31/23 with 2,465 registered youth: 91 youth earned the rank of eagle scout. 4,196 merit badges and 1,748 rank advancements were earned. 150,000 hours of community service performed by our youth members and adult volunteers. 80,000 pounds of food was collected for the local food bank. In 2023, the Council had 340 girls registered in cub Scouts, Scouts bsa, stem Scouts and venturing.
