Program areas at Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley

For more than 20 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley has helped young people on the paths to great futures. We serve almost 900 young people each year with programs focused on academic success, developing good character and leadership skills, and adopting healthy lifestyles. We serve thousands more youth and families annually through community outreach programs focused on the arts, drug and alcohol prevention programs, and through collaborations with other youth serving organizations. Ask the youth who attend our programs about the impact on their lives and you'll hear stories that begin with "self-esteem, leadership, acceptance, community, and respect." The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley has adopted a formula for impact for its members focusing on academic success, developing good character and citizenship, and adopting healthy lifestyles. Affiliated with the Boys & Girls clubs of america, the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley is a separate 501(c)3 non-profit organization with leadership provided by members of the local community. The outstanding strength of the Souhegan Valley Club is our people; our dedicated andprofessional staff, our board members who live and work in our community, our members and their families, and our volunteers. At the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, we make sure kids feel great when they walk through our doors (or at least by the time they walk out again!). From that foundation, we encourage kids to try new things, learn new skills, develop positive relationships, and make good choices. "i cannot thank you enough. The opportunities this Club has given me are opportunities i could not even dream of. Never has a place been so important and valuable to me. Thank you for everything you do." - isaiah, alumni.the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley offers before and after school programs, vacation and summer camps, early education programs, and performing art programs for its members aged 5-18. In addition, the Club provides programs that address drug and alcohol abuse through community action for safe teens (cast). The Club keeps its fees as low as possible and offers a sliding fee scale and needs based financial assistance for families based on family size and income.
The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley utilizes performing arts as a way to fulfill its mission, encouraging creativity, providing leadership opportunities, building self-esteem, and confidence for its youth members. The amato center for the performing arts is part of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley's facility, providing a venue for various youth theater productions, playwriting festivals, summer theater programs, and dance shows each year.
We offer ten one-week sessions of summer day camp for kids entering kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as opportunities for teens entering grades 8-10 to participate in counselor-in-training programs. Campers enjoy the same youth programming that makes the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley a positive place for kids in our community. We welcome between 160 and 200 kids each day during the summer, providing fun, summer-time experiences that focus on skill development with an emphasis on character growth, fun, and adventure.
The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley's early education programs provide educational, enrichment, and day care services to the Souhegan Valley of southern new hampshire, primarily milford. This state licensed child care program serves children in kindergarten and first grade. Our early education program philosophies support learning through meaningful, playful experiences and hands-on activities.
