Program areas at Branch Brook Park Alliance
Working in partnership with the county of essex, the organization provides advice on the restoration and rehabilitation of Branch Brook Park and assists the community foundation of new jersey (cfnj) in overseeing care of the Park powered by jersey cares. We are dedicated to promoting equity, ensuring that individuals from underserved communities, especially people of color, have accessible and enriching experiences in the Park. Through strategic partnerships and impactful programs, we aim to positively influence the overall health and well-being of our community, while also nurturing the Park's significance as a vital economic driver for the region with over one million visitors annually. Three programs funded through Branch Brook Park Alliance and managed by jersey cares are listed on schedule o.1. Volunteer stewardship -- program name: care of the park2023 impact: engaged 3,900 volunteers in Park maintenance and community engagement activities, enhancing the Park's usability and aesthetic quality.2. Health & wellbeing -- program name: discover wellness in Branch Brook park2023 impact: activated over 2,200 participants in health-promoting activities, contributing to improved health outcomes for Park visitors.3. Workforce development -- program name: Branch Brook Park workforce development2023 impact: provided essential job training and employment opportunities to 43 individuals, facilitating their economic advancement and professional growth.
