Bread for A Hungry World

Bread for a Hungry World (BFHW) has been working in HONDURAS for 20 years. All of the work there helps raise individual's self-worth through economic and spiritual development. In 2013, this was accomplished by: providing day care for 67 children; hens for 120 families; helping 9 students to attend college; paying for housing repairs for 20 families; supplying basic groceries for 300 families weekly; providing essential school supplies for 450 children; servicing 120 microloans; building 18 houses.

BFHW provides disaster and poverty relief in Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka and Russia. In Mexico, BFHW purchases 150 uniforms per year, provides school supplies and backpacks for 70 children twice a year, provides Christmas gifts for 146 children, provides food 5 times a year for 50 families through Andy Bucks, and has a stay in school incentive program. Volunteers travel to these countries to support various relief programs. Support was provided for an orphanage. Other projects included water purification systems and global health initiatives.

PHILIPPINES-BFHW provides a food program serving 100 children on weekends and holidays to supplement their nutritional needs in order to encourage them to attend school and know more about Jesus. Some of the children now attend college, teach VBS, and assist with disaster relief. Many are raising goats and gardens and doing other livelihood work. Funded a medical clinic in which over 2,750 patients were seen over a 3 day period. Provided school supplies for 100 kids.
