Program areas at BCCA
Feeling Beautiful Again Program: During a woman's battle to beat breast cancer, they need financial, psychological, and emotional support; this is provided through BCCA's Feeling Beautiful Again Program. The Feeling Beautiful Again Program focuses on the psychological and emotional turmoil of breast cancer: losing hair, breasts, and changes in skin and features that make a woman feel like a woman. This program provides a personalized tote bag with beauty products, scarves, educational workbooks, and devotionals to assist with the emotional struggles many face when going through breast cancer.
Community Outreach & Education: The leading goal of BCCA is to educate and empower women to prevent and survive breast cancer. Through numerous digital, in-person and on-site outlets (including but not limited to Google AdWords, Hospital Partnerships, Women's Health Expos, Universities/women's church ministries) BCCA provides the educational tools and resources for women to be more than 'aware' of breast cancer, but instead, to be educated on what they can do starting today. This includes monthly self breast exam reminders, patient resources, fitness/nutritional guides that are leading resources for breast cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, survival and quality of life.
Medical Mission: In partnership with breast cancer treatment facilities in underdeveloped/impoverished regions, BCCA is able to provide medicines and necessary tools needed in order to provide diagnostic and breast cancer treatments in the poorest nations. BCCA also aids in providing properly translated educational materials to empower women in these regions on the importance of the health and wellness regimens.
iGoPink Scholarship Funds: As a Houston-only program service, this provides graduating high school seniors, who come from a household where their primary caregiver underwent breast cancer treatment in the prior year, the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to pursue their continuing education; this alleviates the possibility that due to medical costs of the primary caregiver's breast cancer diagnosis, that they may not be able to afford continuing education.iGoPink Medical Financial Assistance: This program is designed for breast cancer patients in Houston or the surrounding area (surrounding area includes a 50-mile radius), going through active treatment. This is a program service provided quarterly to assist with medical bills. This project was suspended when Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area. iGoPink Emergency Financial Assistance: Was implemented to provide emergency financial assistance for breast cancer patients in the Houston area affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Help Now Fund: During a woman's battle to beat breast cancer, they need financial, psychological, and emotional support; this is provided through BCCA's Help Now Fund.The Help Now Fund assists current breast cancer patients by providing funding for essential living expenses including rent and utility payments. Funding for the program can be requested by patients online through an application process.
