Program areas at Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation
The Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation provides inspiration, education and resources to youth, families, and communities in need. The Foundation believes in the power of transformative moments to trigger a spark in young people young people who have the desire to make positive decisions in life and just need the tools to make it happen. The Foundation is on a mission to help disadvantaged young people, families, and communities, while also promoting spiritual, cerebral and physical wellness. Brian Dawkins Values Program - The Brian Dawkins Values Program, in collaboration with leading social impact education innovator EVERFI, uses Brians core values as a framework for practical and motivational learning modules designed to provide students with tools, information and inspiration to prioritize their mental wellness. The first module, Owning Your Cerebral Wellness, is based on EVERFIs interactive, digital Mental Wellness Basics course and is offered at no cost to schools. Through it, 8th 10th graders can explore their own mental health, learn to identify challenges they may face, and develop concrete strategies for managing those challenges. The course also empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and language necessary to identify and support a peer in need or at risk.The program also includes a Financial Literacy module, which teaches students how to make wise financial decisions to promote financial well-being over their lifetime. To date the Values Program has impacted 5,995 students in 48 schools across Philadelphia and Jacksonville. And the Financial Literacy program has been in 27 schools and completed by 3,860 students.Brian Dawkins Single Parent Families Program - The Brian Dawkins Single Parent Families Program provides low-income single parents in Philadelphia and Jacksonville areas with grants to support them in accessing further enrichment opportunities for their children. The Single Parent Families Program in the Philadelphia area is administered by Caring People Alliance (CPA), a non-profit dedicated to reducing poverty and injustice, and is made possible by a donation from the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation. Collaboration is based on the belief that to help a child, you must support the system in which they live. Through this program we want to provide additional resources for parents who are working hard to provide the best for their children and help them get ahead in life. In late 2023, through a partnership with Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida, The Single Parent Families Program is being rolled out in the greater Jacksonville area.Brian Dawkins Pre-Apprenticeship Program Through a collaboration with Young Men and Women in Charge (YMWIC) a Philadelphia area organization whose mission is to empower and prepare economically disadvantaged and historically underrepresented youth to excel and become leaders. The program identifies corporate and university partners willing to provide apprenticeships and/or internship opportunities for scholars interested in fields of study. This affords the participants an opportunity to participate in a paid program where they can experience work in their preferred career.Brian Dawkins Mindset to Thrive Program Through a partnership with Junior Achievement of New Jersey, this program launched in late 2023 will help hundreds of Camden, New Jersey area low/moderate income 8th-10th grade students harness the power of hope and possibility through proven volunteer supported career exploration and values based cerebral health learning experiences.
Grants were made to charitable organizations throughout the greater Jacksonville area, supporting these organizations in fulfilling their charitable mission.
