Program areas at Bricker Price Block Restoration Corporation
The social club at bricker-price Block is a versatile space, including a demonstration kitchen and flexible seating, that provides educational and cultural space for patrons of all ages. There are several opportunities for educational programming and community entertainment like game nights, craft classes, kid's summer camps, senior programming, etc. The goal of this space is to bring the earlham and surrounding communities together in a unique space that can offer local and affordable cultural, educational and entertainment events.
We had 275 kids registered for our kids club summer camps in 2021. Our camps include offerings from stem and public safety to crafts. We also awarded over 40 scholarships for free camps to low income families within the 250th percentile of the federal poverty line.
A previously added addition at the rear of the building was transformed into a recreational teen space, designed by local high school students. The teen center is a dedicated space for middle school students to gather on days with no school or early dismissals. Rather than congregating in the unsupervised fields and structures prevalent in rural communities, students have the option to socialize in a teen-space, where adults and high school students can volunteer, monitor and provide resources without encroaching.
N 2021, our senior speaker series hosted an average of 25 senior citizens at each of our 19 presentations. This weekly educational, historical and/or cultural programming is free to our local senior citizens and is open to the public.
