Civic engagement : the civic engagement team is dedicated to empowering our Community through active participation in the democratic process. We focus on mobilizing voters through phone banking and canvassing, ensuring that every voice is heard. Our team also hosts a civic school, where we educate individuals about the civic system's history, its significance, and the critical elements that shape our democracy. By fostering understanding and encouraging engagement, we strive to create a more informed and active citizenry.
Youth sol: the youth-led teams at Brockton Interfaith Community (bic) are dedicated to creating lasting change in Brockton schools and neighborhoods through focused initiatives in Community safety, food justice, and school policy. The Community safety team addresses Community violence by creating safe spaces and empowering youth. The food justice team advocates for diverse, healthier food options in schools and has established a Community garden to inspire student agency over food. The school policy team rewrote the Brockton high school attendance policy and collaborates with the Brockton coalition for education justice to combat systemic racism in education.
Ccgb: the cooperative Community growth and development (ccgd) is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through cooperative initiatives. They facilitate entrepreneurship workshops for both adults and youth, providing a platform to explore and embrace cooperative business models. Ccgd offers technical assistance to cooperative projects, guiding them through the development process. The organization also engages in grassroots organizing to garner local and statewide support for cooperative development. Furthermore, ccgd conducts research and strategies for future business conversions into co-ops, ensuring a sustainable and cooperative-focused economy. With its multifaceted approach, ccgd is at the forefront of fostering a cooperative culture and driving positive change in communities.
