Linear Park Development The Bronzeville Trail Task Force, Inc. (BTTF) is committed to engaging community stakeholders in providing the Bronzeville community a recreational asset that celebrates its history,supports its wellness, and deepens its connectivity to serve a diverse community of all ages and abilities. Engagement and coordination with a wide range of diverse community stakeholders has been an integral part of BTTF activitie. To this end, we received a grant from the Chicago Community Trust to support community engagement programming.
Major Taylor Initiative The BTTF will advocate for Major Taylor, the first African American to achieve the level of "Cycling World Champion," to be recognized and honored by our local, state, and national government and appropriate civic organizations,and that he is awarded the Congressional Gold medal.
Bronzeville Trail History Project The Bronzeville Trail History Project will research,examine,instruct, and publicize the role African Americans played in Chicago's world renowned meat processing industry. The Kenwood "L" Line embankment is a remnant of the Chicago Union Stock Yard Line and has significant ties to the "Great Black Migration."
