Program areas at The Brookwood Community
See Schedule O.The Brookwood Community is a residential and day program for adults with disabilities. Brookwood serves 113 "Citizens" (adults with disabilities) in our residential program and an additional 133 in our day program. Our goal is to provide an environment that allows our Citizens to fulfill their God-given purpose for their lives. We accomplish this by providing citizen-centric spiritual, social, and vocational development opportunities. Our 485-acre Community consists of our specially designed neuro-considerate homes, workshops, worship center, horticulture center, stores & cafe. We continue to expand our citizen-centric opportunities by adding educational programs in all the workshops, including shipping, filing orders, pricing of products for sale, checking in deliveries, etc. Our Citizens are growing and adding value to our Community daily as they learn new skills and interact with the public in our retail stores and cafe, turning diners and shoppers into Brookwood Community supporters. Our Citizens are fully engaged in their work throughout the campus. Our Citizens are the hands of God as they help each other and help change the way our many visitors and shoppers view adults with disabilities. Our recreational programs consisting of sports, fitness, fine arts, and ministry in service to others, along with their work, allow our Citizens to live a life of meaning and purpose.
