Lgbt hwc - the lgbt health workforce conference is the largest and most well-known national lgbt health workforce conference in the united states held annually in new york city. the conference provides an overview of up-to-date practices (climate, educational, research, and clinical) in preparing the healthcare workforce to address the health concerns and disparities of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (lgbt) communities. This conference is designed for health professionals (m.d., d.o., p.a.-c., r.n., n.p., pharm.d., d.d., ph.d., ed.d., public health practitioners, social workers, psychologists, etc. ), researchers, educators, administrators, and students (pre-health professions, professional schools, and graduate), but all interested are invited to attend. Cme credit will be available. Our mission is to help prepare the health care workforce to address the health concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (lgbtq) communities, and to provide professional development resources to support these goals. This conference has successfully gathered over 200 healthcare professionals each year to advance lgbtq+-related causes. All income received goes to support conference related activities.
General programs - the bngap general programs for diverse trainees relate to efforts to bring medical trainees, faculty, and senior leaders together to share and discuss activities and best practices in Building the Next Generation of Academic health professionals in the form of seminars, lectures, and meetings.
Prefac center - the national center for pre-faculty development center provides a new formal structure to guide and lead Academic health centers, national organizations, and community-based organizations as they collectively focus on pre-faculty development as a means to diversifying academia. the concept of pre-faculty development is defined as "providing trainees with foundational self-efficacy, knowledge, skills, and experiences to be successfully appointed, and eventually promoted and tenured within an Academic institution (sánchez jp and williams v, 2019.)" Resources provided by the center to member entities include monthly regional and national Academic career development seminars and webinars to help diverse trainees (from college student level to fellows) gain greater awareness of, interest in, and preparedness for Academic careers.the center also provides to network and gain exposure through opportunities for member entities to post ads in the bngap monthly e-newsletter related to career, employment, and funding opportunities and upcoming events. Medicine through pre-faculty development. Over 100 healthcare professionals including diverse medical trainees register and attend, either in-person or virtually, to our annual conference. All income received goes to support center activities.
