California State PTA engages and empowers over 375,000 members to positively impact the lives of all children and families. It advocates for education, health, safety, and well-being while promoting parental involvement and nurturing leadership development through training, assistance, and mentoring via virtual events. Additionally, it facilitates high-quality insurance coverage for more than 3,000 unit, council, and district PTAs across the state to ensure protection for each PTA member.

Program areas at California State PTA

Engaged and empowered over 375,000 members, advocated for the education, health, safety, and well-being of all children, promoted parent and family engagement, and fostered leadership development through training, assistance, and mentoring. Virtual events held during the year include a summer leadership academy and a legislation conference. Delivered school smarts parent engagement program to over 15 school sites. Conducted campaigns to energize Parents and families to support and promote arts education and next generation science standards. Provided field services and leadership assistance to ptas across California and provided a variety of electronic and printed resources to PTA leaders and members.
Held the first-ever virtual convention which included training, timely information, meaningful debate, guest speakers, and lively interaction oriented towards positively impacting the lives of all children and families.
Facilitated high-quality insurance coverage for more than 3,000 unit, council, and district ptas in the State of California to help ensure that each PTA and its individual members were protected. Coverage included directors and officers, liability, general liability, crime, business property, and workers' compensation. Also provided and insurance guide to ptas in hard copy via the financial mailing and electronically via capta.org to assist leaders in selecting appropriate fundraising activities, sponsored programs, and events.
