Because the annual meeting was virtual via webex, there were no expenses or income for this program. The program was given on november 9 & 10, 2022 (it was 2 one-half days). It was attended by many celc member companies and Law firm members, as well as invited guests. Approximate number of attendees on nov. 9, 2022: 120 personsapproximate number of attendees on nov. 10, 2022: 120 personstopics included: necessary changes in arbitration agreements after "vikingx and federal prohibition for sexual harassment disputes; pay equity and transparency in pay issues and compliance with amended fair pay act; how to deal with the revitalized dfeh and the eeoc; state of the art meal peroid and rest break policies; defeating class certification and paga representative status; ccpa and cpra -- California specific regulations that restrict how a company manages and stores consumer data; general counsel's report; wage & hour update; legislative counsel's report
Because the board meetings were virtual via zoom, there were no expenses or income. The board meetings occurred on the following dates and lasted 3-4 hours. Each had approximate attendance as listed below:approximate number of attendees on oct. 11, 2022: 93 persons. Topic: employee activism in the workplace -- management strategiesapproximate number of attendees on jan. 31, 2023: 75 persons. Topic: update to the Employment discrimination Law treatiseapproximate number of attendees on apr. 19, 2023: 70 persons. Topic: issues under paga-practical suggestionsapproximate number of attendees on sep. 12, 2023: 85 persons. Topic: three recent supreme court decisions: (1) religious accommodation (groff v. dejoy); (2) affirmative action (harvard & univ. Of nc); (3) refusal to work for individuals that allegedly were disfavored for free speech considerations (303 creative llc v. elenis, et al. ).
