Program areas at CMCP
California Minority Counsel Program's (cmcp)business conference is held over two (2) days - provides attorneys of color with multiple opportunities for networking in general, in addition to targeted opportunities to meet business leaders capable of providing work and to show their skills. It includes strong legal education and professional development components. The conference provides a supportive environment in which junior attorneys meet senior business leaders committed to diversifying their in-house law departments and increasing their miniorty attorney outside Counsel legal costs and in which in-house and law firm attorneys have opportunities to connect with people outside their normal circles leading in new and better jobs.
CMCP Ambassadors Council - CMCP launched the CMCP Ambassadors Council (CMCPAC) in 2016. The CMCPAC consists of young attorneys of color at member organizations selected for leadership ability and commitment to diversity. Objectives of the CMCPAC include professional development of its members by providing them responsibilities for outreach to other young lawyers of color, and expansion of CMCPs abilities to be active across California. CMCPAC typically operates by organizing mixers and programs and assisting in mainline CMCP programs and events.
CMCP MEMBER BENEFITS - Non-Conference Events & Programs. CMCP holds networking events, substantive legal programs, and diversity and professional development programs throughout California, all focused on bringing together in-house and outside counsel in an atmosphere conducive to meeting, building relationships and showing minority counsel skills. In addition, CMCP co-sponsored, and assisted in organizing, marketing and in obtaining speakers for numerous programs in conjunction with other legal and diversity organizations.
