Program areas at California Nurse-Midwives Foundation

Student Support/Mentorship Donation & Community Birth - Provided 49 scholarships to student midwives of color from underserved communities. Scholarships were provided for tuition expenses and professional conferences, and emergency funds were provided to assist students with fees and costs to remain in school. There is an urgent need to educate more midwives of color, and these funds support students immediate needs. We also provided funds to 7 midwives committed to mentoring aspiring midwives to aid in the BIPOC midwifery shortage in the state.
Contract and Professional Fees - Provided fees to individual consultants, Raimi and Associates who contributed to the development of CNMFs growth and sustainability planning proposal for the foreseeable future. Other consulting services from Sadia Arshad, Liz Donnelly, and Holly Smith who have participated in the ongoing development of the Reproductive Justice/Anti-Racism & Implementation of SB 1237 project. Finally, we provided fees to accounting, bookkeeping and legal servies for the purpose of maintaining CNMF within legal boundaries as a foundation.
Payroll Expenses - Provided fees to CNMFs 3 employees: 2 Project Directors salary and an Operations and Communications Consultant/Administrative. These rolse have contributed to the advancement of CNMFs values/mission in terms of spearheading proposed projects.
