Program areas at California State PTA - Second District PTA
California PTA National Convention and Legislative Conferences. Trains PTA volunteers . Enabled 7 community leaders to attend 3 conferences, paying for registration, travel, and per diem expenses. Objective is to train PTA leaders in our district on advocacy, leadership and communications. This enables us to support our members and our 67 PTA units.
Founders Day Event and Reflections. Celebrates local, state and national PTAs and a history of advocacy. Celebrate volunteers with honorary awards. Honors local student artists with reflections awards. Our objective is to promote PTA and recognize students, teachers, parents, school administration, and other community volunteers.
Membership support, including expenses for website, virtual meetings, and translations. We support 67 school PTAs in the San Francisco Unified School District, with a total of 7600 members. Our objective is to enable PTA units to form and maintain their non profit 501(c)(3) status, by offering support to unit officers, help with membership enrollment, training and guidance on regulations for fundraising, non profit filing, connecting units with California PTA support, volunteer recognition, and community building.
