Caloz state policy working groupcaloz is focused on promoting sound opportunity zone public policy in California. In doing so, we support policies that encourage quality investments in opportunity zones that achieve a "triple bottom line" criteria of strong economic, social and environmental returns. We pursue this work via an invitation-only policy working group comprised of Caloz members representing diverse business, government, philanthropic and community organizations. Specific activities of the policy working group include: (a) regular calls, emails and meetings to exchange updates and discuss strategy; (b) calls, letters, emails and meetings with elected and appointed representatives of the state of California providing information, perspective and policy recommendations; (c) testimony at public hearings and events; and (d) periodic informational briefings to broader membership segments and non-member audiences. Caloz may raise funds from time to time to retain a public affairs consultant to assist with this program. Our organization began conducting this program in april 2019 and anticipates spending approximately 25% of our time and efforts on this initiative.
