Program areas at Caminar Latino
Lupe - latinos united for peace and equity (lupe), Caminar Latino's national counterpart, engages in public policy, system change, and research at the intersection of gender-based violence and Latino identity. In addition, lupe offers capacity building, training, and technical assistance to other nonprofit organizations, advocates in the field, government agencies, and businesses.
Community initiatives - the community initiatives program seeks to serve the broader Latino community through two primary programs in the metro area: líderes comunitarias and la voz juvenil. The líderes comunitarias program provides women with the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, while the la voz juvenil program is designed to equip youth to research and share knowledge with the community on violence affecting Latino youth.
Individual and family initiatives - the individual and family initiatives program addresses domestic violence holistically by engaging the whole family. The program consists of a survivor program, youth program, family violence intervention, and parenting courses. These programs work in synergy with one another to support individuals and the entire family's journey to non-violence.
