Description
The Camp Ihope Foundation provides camp activities for children with cancer and their siblings. It gives them the chance to experience the thrill of going camping, which is especially meaningful because their families have large expenses associated with the disease. This program enables these children to experience a week of camping complete with arts, crafts, sleeping out, and seeing other children in similar situations, which helps them feel less alone in this scary experience. The foundation is located in Plano, TX.

Have given children with cancer and their siblings a chance to experience the thrill of going camping. Their families have large expenses associated with the disease. Are worn from the struggle and anxiety of seeing a child afflicted with this disease. Other children in the famil often feel left out becuase of the amount of time and money spent on the sick child. This gives the well child and the sick child a chance to bond in a fun new way they can both enjoy and share. This also gives the parents and/or caregivers a brief respite.
