Program areas at Camp Moshava
The Camp conducts a religious, zionist, co-educational summer educational program for children from all over the united states, canada, israel, and europe. It is located in wayne county, Pennsylvania on 195 acres of land that encompass a fresh water lake and dense areas of forests and streams. On average, each summer it hosts over 1,000 third through ninth grade children who attend the Camp for either one or two months. The program is open to all children who have an interest in learning more about jewish religion and philosophy and the history and culture of israel, without regard to a child's race, religion, national origin, color, or sexual orientation.
In conjunction with yachad, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities and including them in the jewish community, the Camp operates two significant special needs programs- one for children with special needs and the other for adults with special needs. The children's program integrates children with learning disabilities and other serious medical conditions such as asperger's syndrome into the typical Camp educational setting with the assistance of supportive "shadow" staff who facilitate and promote meaningful socialization and inclusion. The adult program offers adults with special needs full time work positions in a sleep away educational environment. Male and female participants are supervised by a job coach/counselor and are placed in positions suitable to their abilities and their needs.
