Program areas at Camp Taylor / Kimberlie Gamino

Camp Taylor, Inc. helps the under-served population of pediatric cardiology. The children and their families are supported through programs designed to enrich and uplift, creating an immediate positive impact in the lives of this special community.Since its inception in 2002, the flagship program continues to be medically supervised residential camp programs for young people 7 17 years of age affected by heart disease. Camp Taylor remains the only program of its kind throughout Central and Northern California. Camp Taylor camps provide the unique opportunity for children fighting a life-threatening illness to feel normal surrounded by children fighting similar battles. The children grow emotionally, mentally, and socially as they engage in heart education classes, campfire skits, Giving Tree heart 2 heart talks, and standard camp fun activities. The impact that a week at Camp Taylor creates in the lives of the children is felt deep as children make lifelong friends and bond over their similar health challenges. When campers return home to begin the new school year, theyre empowered with newfound self-esteem and excellent knowledge of their specific disease, knowing they are not alone.Camp Taylor programs reach the children served at a depth not available in a physicians office or hospital environment. Camp is a safe have a world away from the daily trials of living with their disease.Camp Taylor purchased land and is building their own Forever Home Campus to continue expanding programs for children with heart disease and offering the facility to programs affecting children of other illnesses.
