Program areas at Campaign for Trauma Informed Policy and Practice
Ctipp succesfully organized advocates across the country to mobilize around trauma-informed policied and practices. We had 12 monthly calls with our network and organized around a 1 billion appropriations request for education funding, which turned into funding in the bipartisan safer communities act and we did a briefing for the department of education on why trauma-informed schools are necessary. Additionally, congress passed the post disaster mental health response act, which ctipp and its network helped advocate for.
Ideas lab organized various tools and convenings for advocates and practitioners across the country and around the world. Several thousand individuals joined our building the national movement to prevent Trauma and foster resilicence worshop series, and our trauma-informed schools report was leveraged for successful advocacy at various levels to promote appropriations and legislation to support improvement in the education system, for example.
Press on was formally organized as a framework and we invited statewide and local coalitions to join. We gauged their interest through meetings and discussions, and have evolved our strategy to ensure the infrastructure we are developing is additive to the coalitions we work with.
