Through free organized tennis instruction and off court counseling, 15 LOVE works with children in a loving, caring way on a variety of important issues. The program promotes education, emphasizes good health (both physical and emotional), instills positive values, supports family preservation, fosters multi-cultural relationships, advocates good sportsmanship, and encourages community service. The program operates on a year-round basis, serving youth throughout the Capital Region at indoor locations during the fall and winter months and outdoor locations during the summer months. Typically, over 7,000 kids participate in the program annually.15 LOVE is modeled after similar tennis programs founded by the late Arthur Ashe "to teach the game of life." The tennis great, who got his start on the public courts said: "We're involved in improving the odds for youth because we just don't have a choice. The price of not acting is too high."
