Cappies of the National Capital Area teaches high school drama students in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area to critique theatrical performances. The students attend high school performances throughout the metropolitan area, submitting their reviews which may be published in local newspapers. Additionally, Cappies holds annual awards ceremonies, called Galas, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC to honor theatrical accomplishments by high school students from the area.
