Program areas at Carolinas CARE Partnership
The HOPWA MSA and CARES programs served a total of 653 undupicated clients and an additional 280 family members with short term emergency assistance with rent, mortgage and utility payments, supportive services, end of life care, in-patient substance abuse treatment, housing information services, tenant-based rental services and facility based housing services. All eligible clients are HIV positive with and annual income of 80% or below the AMI in the 11 counties.
Program 2: SAMHSAThe Opt Out program is a SAMHSA funded program to build capacity among organizations that serve LGBTQIA youth and young adults, and all people living with HIV, to provide culturally appropriate services regarding Opiod Prevention and Treatment. This project uses the Strategic Prevention Framework, an evidence-based practice, to meet its goals.
Program 3: SAMHSA Rx ACEThe RX ACE program is a SAMHSA funded program to advocate for inclusive communities by providing education, outreach, prevention, and collaborative initiatives that improve overall wellness, promote dignity and eradicate stigma related to substance use disorder while addressing prescription drug misuse. We provide services throughout the 11 county MSA. The populations of focus include LGBTQ and general youth and young adults ages 14 - 25 and anyone living with HIV. The goals are to train first responsers in the use of narcan. All goals have been reached.
