Program areas at Cascadia Green Building Council
We advocated for progressive Green Building code modifications and policy around the region and worked directly with state and city governments to provide incentives for and remove barriers to advanced Green Building strategies.
Collaborative groups-organized and supported groups of volunteers meeting to share knowledge, resources, and network in order to further mission of organization.
Green and solar home tour-cascadia, and its volunteer local grass roots branch organizations organized a Green and solar home tour in bend, Oregon. The tour is held each year and showcases the best in Green Building ideas in the central Oregon region. Nine homes were show cased. Over 500 architects, designers, engineers, and people interested in learning more about environmentally sustainable, energy efficient, low water utilizing homes attended the tour. The tour is a very effective way to reach out to the community to encourage environmentally friendly construction.
