Catch the Stars Scholar Athlete Program The Catch the Stars Foundation Scholar Athlete and scholarships were designed to recognize and honor Indianapolis area students who participate in athletics, while at the same time, excel in academics and community service. One male and one female Scholarship winner is awarded a four-year renewable $5,000 (valued at $20,000) each to an educational institution of their choice. Catch the Stars has given over $850,000 in scholarships since this programs inception.
Catch the Stars Youth Holiday Basketball Camp This basketball camp is in its 22ND year of the camp, during which, it has grown to become a well-respected youth basketball camp in the Indianapolis area. Since 2001, Over 8,000 Indianapolis area youth have learned basketball fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and goal setting through their participation to date. FITNESS CLINICS - These free fitness clinics teach the importance of proper nutrition and exercise. Campers are admitted for free if they bring 10 canned food items, which in turn, are donated to the Gleaners Food Bank of Central Indiana. Over 100 campers and 40 parents particiapted in our Clinics. Shoot for the Stars Program is a 6 week Virtual Youth Development program that integrates fitness and leadership skills. The purpose of this program is to encourage boys and girsl, ages 8 to 16, to lead healthy lifestyles, have positive attitudes, set goals and become more active in the community. A strong component of this program will be helping participants understand and appreciate their own self-worth, while also stessing the importance of leadership and leading healthy lives. Over 30 youth participated in this virtual 6 week program. Community Book and Toys Giveaway is a program in which Catch the Stars partners with Toys for Tots to distribute free books and to toys to local Indiana Families. Over 1,000 toys were distributed during 2023. Program expenses include ALL expenses for ALL progroms, summarized in this line.
Back to School Celebration For the past 17 years, the Catch the Stars Foundation has hosted this fun-filled outreach program to get local youth motivated and excited about the upcoming school year. Over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies were given to students, grades 1 12 at this years event. The event also includes free food, bounce houses, performances by local dance groups and a community fair.
