Orange county office of addiction services and supports (oasas) funded programs provide medically supervised outpatient substance use treatment services at six main clinic offices in Orange county and one satellite site location for adolescents. These programs serve individuals who may be covered by medicaid or commercial insurance, or who or not covered and pay program fees themselves. The prevention services department provides community- based prevention, intervention, community outreach, community coalition leadership and evidenced-based curriculum in local schools and reached 11,000 individuals in Orange county in 2023. In 2023, Catholic Charities Orange county's chemical dependency clinics provided sud treatment and recovery support to approximately 1,300 people suffering from the disease of addiction. In addition, 78 adolescents received in-school counseling.
Social safety net services include the housing resource center (hrc), that provides Orange county with a family friendly, centralized resource for a continuum of housing services (including emergency housing assistance, homelessness prevention and case management, through a working collaboration with the department of social services and community-based organizations). During the year ended december 31, 2023, the hrc assisted 3,069 clients. Social safety net services, including case management, financial assistance, food pantries, and kids pantries, provided assistance to 5,013 clients in Orange, Sullivan & Ulster counties.
Sullivan county oasas funded programs provide a continuum of licensed chemical dependency treatment and recovery support services including medically supervised detox, residential treatment, day rehabilitation, outpatient substance use clinic, vocational counseling, and case management for individuals residing in the hud housing program. These programs serve individuals who may be covered by medicaid managed care or commercial insurance, or who are not covered and pay program fees themselves. The prevention services department provides community-based prevention, intervention, community outreach, community coalition leadership and evidenced-based curriculum in local schools and reached approximately 380 individuals in Sullivan county in 2023. For the twelve months ended december 31, 2023, Catholic Charities Sullivan county's addiction prevention services reached 3,196 individuals through evidence-based programs at schools and outreach events. More than 6,500 safety products were distributed by prevention services to keep at-home medications safe and prevent misuse and abuse.
1) employee assistance services provided to organizations through contractual agreement offering a comprehensive and confidential resource, using professional clinicians, to assist employees and their families and other eligible participants such as those in a parish counseling network, deal with a wide variety of personal or family problems.2) the parish counseling network provided counseling to over 444 individuals and families. 45 bereavement support group sessions were provided for those who have lost loved ones to addiction or covid.3) the state opioid response program supplements existing chemical dependency prevention, treatment and recovery activities and provided communitybased services to individuals in need who experience barriers in accessing a traditional service delivery model.
