The program makes resources available to the grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and friends who have been named the legal gardians of non-biological children and would benefit from assistance with legal needs, food, clothing, rent, medical needs and childcare while these children are in their care. There are currently 113 families enrolled.
The emergency assistance program exists to help the people of lubbock county and the diocese of lubbock with emergencies in their families and by providing information on the various other resources and how to access them. The program is supported by, and works closely with, the Catholic parishes and other agencies of lubbock county in providing services and seeking to help prevent future emergencies.
