Inspired by the Holy Scriptures, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Charleston promotes self-sufficiency and strives to break the cycle of poverty in South Carolina by serving their neighbors in need. Their Lady’s Pantry is one of the healthy initiatives of Catholic Charities. This program was designed to help clients have greater access to nutritious options, no matter their circumstances or finances. Program areas at Catholic Charities of South Carolina

Catholic Charities provides direct services through various programs. Our wellness pantries strive to provide healthy foods along with behavioral economics education to help make a systematic change in the lives of our clients in snap benefits. The save a smile program provides access to our health solutions that include the ability to carry out the basic physical and social oral functions that we normally take for granted. The clean of heart program provides laundry, shower and at-home atmosphere to the homeless. The restorative justice program works to restore faith for those who are penitent as they seek a fresh start with a greater sense of self awareness and self-efficacy.
Catholic Charities immigration services provides legal services to low-income immigrants in South Carolina. Specifically, we assist immigrants in filing the appropriate forms and gathering necessary supporting documents in order to file for immigration relief. We provide assistance in the following cases: adjustment of status, consular processing, naturalization, u and t visas, vawa cases, temporary protected status, daca, sij,and renewal of permanent residency and work permits. We also provide community education of relevant immigration law topics.
The carter may home is an assisted living facility that provides housing and services for elderly adults. A variety of services and activities are offered to provide residents with the care they need while also encouraging them to pursue an active lifestyle. These services and activities include medication management, restaurants style dining, housekeeping and laundry services, healthcare coordination, transportation to medical appointments, crafts, outings, exercise, religious activities, gardening and more.
Catholic Charities' disaster services team ensures clients return to safe, sanitary and secure living conditions after the ramifications of a natural disaster. Through contractor and community partnerships, we assist clients in their journey to return to safe, sanitary and secure living conditions. Many have adjusted their life for at least a year before contacting us, living in moldy or unsafe conditions. Repairs include roofing, siding, interior work such as drywall, flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, doors & windows.
