Program areas at Catholic Volunteer Network
Membership Support and Capacity Building - Catholic Volunteer Network (CVN) provides essential support to over 100 member organizations that engage in faith-based service. Through a variety of resources and services-including training, technical assistance, and strategic guidance-CVN empowers its members to strengthen their volunteer programs and fulfill their missions. Our capacity-building efforts focus on enhancing organizational sustainability, developing volunteer recruitment strategies, and fostering program innovation, ensuring that member organizations continue to provide impactful service rooted in Catholic social teaching.
Other programs, including: Annual Conference and Convenings - Each year, CVN hosts an annual conference that gathers leaders from faith-based volunteer programs, nonprofit organizations, and Catholic institutions to discuss trends in service and social justice. The conference features workshops, keynote speakers, and networking opportunities designed to inspire collaboration and innovation at the intersection of faith and justice. CVN also organizes regional and virtual convenings throughout the year to provide ongoing education and networking opportunities for its members.
Volunteer Placement and Service Opportunities - As a national leader in faith-based volunteerism, CVN connects individuals seeking to serve with meaningful volunteer opportunities. Through our annual Response directory and online platform, we help potential volunteers discern and apply for service placements with our member programs. These programs offer volunteers the opportunity to serve marginalized communities in the U.S. and abroad, focusing on education, healthcare, social services, and environmental stewardship. CVN's matching services help volunteers find placements that align with their values, skills, and long-term personal and professional goals.
