Program areas at CCA
Transitional services department specializes in providing shelter for homeless or at-risk of homelessness for individuals and families. On-site staff help individuals develop and implement long term plans for housing stability and increased self-efficacy. Increasing employment skills and additional service linkages are also addressed. Cca also operates mental health services through the department of Community services. Staff provide assessment and therapeutic interventions at various locations throughout the county including the Cattaraugus county department of Community services clinic sites in olean, salamanca and machias, as well as in schools, medical clinics, and the Cattaraugus county jail.
The victim services department provides a comprehensive program serving all victims of crime in several service locations throughout rural Cattaraugus and allegany counties. We have been providing comprehensive services to all victims of crime since 1985. Our agency began serving victims of domestic violence in Cattaraugus county in 1980 and became designated as the licensed domestic violence provider by nys ocfs. in 1986, our agency began providing services to rape and sexual assault survivors in Cattaraugus and allegany county, and in 1996, cca was granted the rape crisis counselor confidentiality privilege.
Connecting Communities in Action offers several energy and housing services such as housing rehabilitation, manufactured home replacement and weatherization assistance program (wap). Under housing rehabilitation, cca may serve qualifying owner-occupied homes addressing lead remediation, service upgrades, code compliance issues, structural deficiencies, accessibility issues, roofing, windows and doors. The manufactured home replacement program serves low-income families in allegany, livingston and Cattaraugus counties. Weatherization assistance program (wap) serves low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners and renters. Services such as energy audits, health and safety measures, energy conservation, education, emergency furnace repairs and replacements, and other minor repairs related to energy needs are addressed. Cca also operates 515 senior and disabled housing sites in delevan, franklinville, little valley, randolph and clymer.
Connecting Communities in Action's youth & family services division is committed to providing unified, strength-based solutions that are family-driven and in collaboration with local resources, which empowers families to succeed. By providing preventive outcome-based and goal-driven programs, we provide opportunities for families to achieve safety, permanency, and well-being.
Property management - to maintain residential dwelling accomodations for persons of low or moderate income.
Emergency services - Connecting Communities in Action's nutrition division is committed to empowering the Community to make choices through advocacy, education, and outreach. We connect families to resources in order to promote food security and encourage the value of nutrition.
