Program areas at Chinese Children Charities Cherish Children Adoption International
Placement of Children: In 2023, due to continuing closures from COVID and war, only 46 orphaned children from Bulgaria, Belize, China, Taiwan, and Colombia were placed in American adoptive families' homes. On 12/31/2023 there were 457 families in the various stages of pre-adoption process and 550 children receiving post adoption services.
The Park Adoption Community Center: To ensure the success of the adoption, CCAI developed post adoption support systems called the Park Adoption Community Center (The Park) designed to assist the families with the bonding and attachment process, cultural education and emotional support. a. Its Joyous Chinese Cultural School conducts programs for pre-school through high school to teach Chinese culture and traditions. b. Its Adopteen program serves over 3000 adopted American pre-teens and teenagers each year with Adoptween hangouts, summer camp-conferences, leadership retreats, Adult Adoptee retreats, and caregiver training opportunities. c. Its China Roots program created opportunities for adoptees to return back to China to discover their roots and visit orphanages where they lived prior to adoption.
Children's Charity Fund: a restricted fund dedicated to humanitarian assistance to orphaned/abandoned and adopted children. The fund has been used to purchase food, clothing, diapers, formula, educational materials, toys, and medical assistance. The Children's Charity Fund sponsors over 300 children in Foster Care programs, orphanages, and the Lily Orphan Care Centers in Henan and Jiangxi Provinces of China. In 2023, Children's Charity Fund also provided $57,800 in funding to Orphanages in Ukraine and Colombia.
