Program areas at CCCS of the BH and Acce

Consumer Credit counseling service of the black hills provides comprehensive financial and housing counseling at no charge. Housing services include: pre-purchase housing counseling and homebuyer education, and loss mitigation foreclosure prevention counseling. A certified Consumer Credit counselor meets with an individual or family for 2 hours and helps them develop a personalized action plan to overcome their housing and financial obstacles and obtain and maintain safe and affordable housing, increase their financial stability, and reach financial goals. We provided housing and financial counseling for 486 households and dmp clients. For some insolvent individuals and families, the financial counseling assessment reveals that a debt management programs is a viable option that helps them manage their finances and repay their debts. Our debt management clients repaid over 434,137.50.
the american Center for Credit education develops and publishes financial education programs including Credit when Credit is due, make your move - a guide to homeownership, money in motion, start right: build your own business, rebuilding your Credit, cut through the confusion on health insurance and medical bills, and ten steps to buying a car. We also distribute these programs nationwide to non-profit Credit and housing counseling agencies and community action agencies. We have distributed 1,843,335 financial literacy programs. Locally, we provided our financial literacy programs to our clients, high schools, universities, non-profit organizations, the military, employers, correctional facilities, job training, reservations, government agencies, and more. In south dakota we provided financial education programs to 778 individuals via the classroom and 335 online.
