Program areas at Cead - Center for Education and Academic Development

In association to the benefit concert with All Star Concerts and Jay King of Club, CEAD - The Center for Education and Academic Development participated in a collaborative service event with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc - General Convention "Go-To-High-School-Go-To-College" program and the Nevada Partners. Inc.. The event, "Wild-N-Out Wednesdays" involved 20 students from our Elite Scholars program and took place Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the facility of Nevada Partners - 70 WEST LAKE MEAD BLVD., North Las Vegas, Nevada, prior to the benefit concert. "Wild-N-Out Wednesdays" is a program that provides an enthusiastic and motivating service environment that engages students in conversation and activities related to social change. Workshops involved hands-on leadership development exercises that encouraged community and civic engagement. The event was followed by a Public Program at Bally's Hotel that was hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc - General Convention. Nevada Partners aims to build a community network that supports all local youth who are at risk or out of school. They provide options for making healthy choices, succeeding in school, reconnecting to education and work/career paths that lead to lifelong success. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc "Go-To-High-School-Go-To-College" program is aimed to concentrate and promote the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as opportunities to advancement. Students receive information and learn strategies that facilitate success.
We have 60 students from low income and disadvantaged areas on our roster. We provide them with education support and exposure to higher education options and facilities.
