Center for Ai and Digital Policy promotes democratic values, fundamental rights, and the rule of law in order to create a better society that is more fair, just, and inclusive. The Center offers intensive clinic education in Ai Policy research, writing, and analysis to train future Ai Policy leaders. Participants assess country Ai policies and practices and draft statements on significant Ai Policy news. Additionally, the Center provides advice on Ai Policy to national governments and international organizations, including the US National Security Commission on AI and the European Union.

Program areas at Center for Ai and Digital Policy

Publication of the report "artificial intelligence and democratic values". In 2023, the Center published its third comparative study of artificial intelligence and democratic values. The report rated and ranked the Ai policies and practices of 75 countries, and provided a methodological basis to evaluate future developments. The Center's report has promoted the adoption of democratic values in the design and deployment of Ai systems around the world.
Advising national governments and international organizations on Ai Policy. In 2023, the Center provided advice on Ai Policy to many national governments and international organizations, including the council of europe, the european parliament, the g20, the g7, the us congress, us federal agencies, the uk government, ,the oecd, the office of science and technology Policy, unesco, the us office of science and technology Policy, and others.
Training of future Ai Policy leaders. In 2023, the Center offered intensive clinic education in Ai Policy research, writing, and analysis. Participants identified significant Ai Policy news, assessed country Ai policies and practices, drafted statements on Ai Policy to national governments and international organizations, and identified emerging trends. Caidp awarded certificates to those who completed the Ai Policy and Ai Policy - advanced courses. Candidates were also required to sign a statement of professional ethics for Ai Policy. The caidp statement of professional ethics recognizes that Ai systems impact the rights and opportunities of others, may pose a risk to public safety, and that bias is an ongoing challenge.
